Train up a child in the way he should go… Proverbs 22:6 Blog By Donna Cole

Proverbs 22:6    Train up a child in the way he should go,  And when he is old he will not depart from it.  (NKJV)

Deuteronomy 6:6-9        “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.   8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.   9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.  (NKJV)

We as parents are responsible for the education of our children.  Whether we send them to public school, private school like PHCS, or homeschool, we are responsible for their education.  God expects us to teach our children about Him.

As a homeschool mom, I have the privilege of being the primary one influencing my child.  God has given my child many gifts and talents, and has entrusted me with helping to develop them.   I am very grateful for the homeschool community at Perry Hall Baptist Church.

A Neighbor’s Perspective by Bill Stevenson

Like some of you reading this I too am getting familiar with the idea and value of a Perry Hall Christian School education.  It is a protracted acquaintance for me to get to know PHCS staff and the day-to-day operations because I do not have a student(s) in the school nor will I, my only daughter is twenty-nine and lives in Illinois.  Moreover, I cannot stop by because I teach at a neighboring public school and share the same calendar year.  However, it is because of this I have a unique perspective that qualifies me to see what an invaluable opportunity one has when they send their children to PHCS.

The very idea of a school promoting prayer to solicit God’s divine intervention or the encouragement and use of a Christian world view for every activity is so overwhelmingly important it is priceless!  Moreover, a faculty that calls Jesus their Savior just about sends me to tears.  If you spent even one day teaching in the darkness that is public education you would certainly not hesitate to enroll your child here regardless of the many other attributes.

That is just the beginning because the PHCS curriculum both now and in the future enables your student and their teachers to use a biblical backdrop for every subject or lesson learned/ taught.  Moreover, your child will spend time with an administration, staff and student body that wants to excel in academics and sports knowing full well our Lord calls us to excellence in all that we do.

In fact, at 19 I had to make a supremely tough moral decision and because I’m a product of Christian Schools I was able to make the right choice.  That speaks volumes about the power of Scripture and presence of Holy Spirit which are primary at Perry Hall Christian School.  I truly believe the students at PHCS experience a life changing education.
